Yiorgos Nikoletakis

Co-Founder, The Tipping Point

Born and raised in the island of Crete, Yiorgos & his team created the Tipping Point in Education, an EdTech initiative which empowers 10,000 public school students in remote Greek islands and villages to consciously take their once-in-a-lifetime decisions, by connecting them with 2,500 role-models worldwide. Besides Greece, the software that he created with his team, is used by 22,000 students in 17 countries. A NASA aeronautics engineer for a physics class in Namibia or a museum director in Athens for a history class in Laos, are a couple of examples of mentors that students would not be able to meet otherwise in their daily school routines. Before Education Technology, Yiorgos worked in Mergers & Acquisitions for energy and infrastructure projects in the US & Spain, and in Finance and Logistics positions in the US, China and Greece. He studied in AUEB, OSU and Columbia University, where he acted as the president of the SIPA European Association and he worked as the research fellow of the Columbia European Institute. Yiorgos is the recipient of scholarships and awards from 10 institutions, like the Propondis Foundation, the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY), the London Business School Incubator (Founder Award), the Deloitte Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in London and the Fulbright Foundation.
